Thanksgiving is right around the corner for all my American friends. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia but the idea of giving thanks for all you have in your life is a lovely tradition.
On the animal side of things, I especially like reading about the Farm Sanctuary USA Celebration for the Turkeys! Each year at Thanksgiving and Christmas, literally billions of Turkeys are slaughtered and no-one seems to think about that and how it really doesn’t sit well with the intention behind either of those holidays …. love, compassion, kindness to all. At Farm Sanctuary they honour the Turkeys and you can be part of the celebrations. Soooo lucky! There is time with the animals, speakers, delicious cruelty free food and of course the turkey feeding ceremony! It would be a beautifully kind and cruelty free way to spend a day and a happy day for kids, who get to meet the beautiful turkeys.
For more information on how to attend one of these events, please click here.
You can also adopt a Turkey for Thanksgiving, something I think kids would love to do if they can’t get to the event, as I think it sells out fast! For more information on that, please click here and you will be taken to the Farm Sanctuary website.
Of course, if you don’t make it that day …. make sure you get there another time. If you’d like to read my review on my visit to Farm Sanctuary, please click here.
Just on the food side of things …. if you’d like ideas on how to have a plant based Thanksgiving, here are some great blogs with ideas and some delicious looking recipes. Sometimes it’s nice to start new traditions …. kinder ones.

Now, on a fashion note ….. for anyone celebrating Thanksgiving or you might just like these regardless …. I found these cute items on Etsy. I really love the Turkey pendent, I think that’s my favourite.
Anyhow, if you'd like to check out further, just click the pics to be taken straight to Etsy.
Wishing everyone a very thankful Thanksgiving full of compassion and kindness.
